"People who love to eat are always the best people." - Julia Child. We couldn't agree more. :) We not only like to eat, but eat OUT - as frequently as possible. Our faves are listed here.
WING NIGHT. Who doesn't love it? Well...vegetarians. Sorry, guys and gals.
Anyway, for those of us who love a good chicken wing, or know someone who does, it's absolutely essential to know where to get the best wings. However, we can do one better than that. We're here to give you the best place to get a discounted chicken wing each night of the week. Read More... Read More
When I first went to TD’s Tailgate, I will admit that I was hesitant because I had only remembered the old location. However, I was quickly blown away by what seems like 900 HD TVs in the restaurant. More on that in a second.… Read More Read More
Tower Tuesday, Blendsday and Vinyl Thursday, regardless of the day you go to Hoppin Frog, you’ll have an amazing selection of not only Hoppin’ Frog beers, but also hard to find craft beers from elsewhere. They aren’t prejudiced; they know a good beer when they taste it, whether it’s theirs or not.… Read More Read More
A few Saturdays ago, I wanted to venture a bit north to check out the mid-century modern selection at Medina Antique Mall (which is pretty good by the way!), but I wanted to hang with my hubs and little dudes, too.… Read More Read More
In her last post, Lisa covered What To Do during Pro-Football Hall of Fall Week in Canton (and there is a lot to do). But all that ‘doing’ is going to leave you hungry, right? Right.
Never fear, we’re a couple of dining-out professionals and will take care of your growling stomach in no time.… Read More Read More
Hipsters, sandwiches, downtown Canton, I love ‘em all. Combine them and it’s like a [local] little piece of Portlandia. Recently opened Deli Ohio is just that – also, a much needed addition to the food scene here.
I say much needed because it fills that gap between sit down restaurant and… McDonald’s.… Read More Read More
What has so far been the Summer of Yard Weeds, Incessant Rain, Rampant Bugs, and Pale Legs, has left me searching for any redeeming qualities of the season. I mean, we’re approaching mid-July here, and my tan currently ranks somewhere between ‘glowing white’ and ‘Nicole Kidman.’ (Can you relate?… Read More Read More
Canton Food Tours has been on our “must-do” list for a long time now. So, when the planets aligned and we were able to gather a group of foodie/artsy/all-around-creative friends, we jumped at the chance to go on a private Warehouse District tour of downtown Canton.… Read More Read More
It’s a perpetual question Lisa and I ask each other and get from our friends…and the one most likely to be followed by a string of ‘ummmmms’ and staring blankly into space: Where can we sit outside and enjoy a little food and drink…without gazing directly at someone’s Ford Focus in the parking lot? As you have already figured, we are always on the search for something new to do and somewhere to go in Akron, but that doesn’t necessarily mean after work. We’ve all been there – sometimes you need a really great lunch, or a break from the office, and heating left overs in the community microwave won’t cut it.… Read More Read More
Two summertime realities of life in Canton, Ohio: 1) summer is short, and 2) good patios are hard to come by…unless you like to eat while gazing onto an asphalt parking lot and the hood of your car. If so, we’ve got plenty of those.… Read More Read More
Here’s one we didn’t see coming: a favorable review of a drive-thru sushi joint in Canton, Ohio.
I mean, honestly, when a drive-thru sushi place opens in former Burger King, there are all sorts of reasons to be afraid…very afraid.… Read More Read More
1) Start ‘Build a Meal’ assembly line.
2) Pick a protein.
3) Pick whether you want that protein on a salad, bed o’ carbs, or all wrapped up.
4) Add desired toppings.
5) Pay and eat.
If this sounds like Chipotle, you’re almost right.… Read More Read More

On this 5th of May, everyone’s favorite day to consume tacos and tequila like they’re going out of style, let me introduce you to my favorite off-the-beaten-path TACO TRAILER in Akron.
Yep, Akron has a taco truck-like thing.… Read More Read More
Last Friday, for our dear friend Lilia’s 29th (+ maybe a few) birthday, Lisa and I headed up to CLE to help her celebrate. After a short deliberation of where to celebrate - E. 4th, Gordon Square or Tremont, we settled on Gordon Square, one of our favorite walkable neighborhoods. Infested with bearded plaid-shirted hipsters, yes, but still a fave. Read More
The Blue Door, however, appeals to the bruch-snob in us in almost every way. They offer locally-sourced ingredients, house-made pastries and breads, a small, rotating menu (not 189 variations of breakfast combos to pick from), and a perfect mix of breakfast/brunch/lunch/sweets.
As a couple of girls who could easily live on bread and cheese, we love that their menu has a European flair – crepes suzette, raspberry almond pancakes, sausage and feta frittata, mussels & frites, a BLT on homemade croissant, etc. And wouldn’t you know – their kitchen staff all has chefs’ training. Switching dining plans at the last possible moment is often a recipe for disaster, regret, and if you’re the overly dramatic type, perhaps some self-loathing. But when it’s not? It’s blissful. Yay for spontaneity!
That’s what happened during Cleveland Restaurant Week when my lunch pals and I, feeling super indecisive, changed our plans (on a street corner in downtown Cleveland - mind you), from an E. 4th St. mecca to Pura Vida, close by on Euclid Avenue. Read More
Ordering a microbrew in downtown Akron, has long been happening at Lockview, and that's about it. Most of the bars down Main Street boast cocktails, wines, some imports but mostly big-box domestics. Needless to say, prior to the summer of 2012 your only option for a delicious craft beer was limitied. THEN. Then Baxter's Bar opened, right beside Lockview actually, and they carry around 200 beers.
