Where to go and what to do during those rare times you're not eating. Here is our round-up of favorite spots around NEOhio and beyond. Festivals, sporting events, general fun - you'll find it here.
Ohio was on national television three times last weekend. THREE TIMES IN ONE WEEKEND – that’s great! And each of those spots were nationally acclaimed for being a top-notch facility in their respective sports. Firestone Country Club Golf Course (Akron), Football Hall of Fame (Canton), and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.… Read More Read More
When you live in Ohio, your options for quick getaways don’t always sound hot and sexy: Quick trip to Indiana, romantic weekend in Illinois, weekend getaways in Pennsylvania.
I can’t really come up with a fantastic lie as to why our Lake Erie Beaches outrank somewhere like Siesta Key, but I can tell you that we do have beaches and you can have fun without the 20 hour car ride to Florida.… Read More Read More
What kind of Canton residents would we be if we didn’t promote and suggest the Football Hall of Fame 2013 to our readers? It’s the #1 bragging right and tourist attraction we have, and we love it. We are proud of it and want others to have a good time when they come to visit.… Read More Read More
Hey guys, so guess what? It’s mid-July and summer showed up. Yup, all 90° and hot-and-steamy and stuff.
You know what this means: get thyself to the pool, quick! By my stellar math calculations, most of us have less than six weeks to do this before 1) it’s back-to-school, 2) the pools are drained, or 3) it snows.… Read More Read More
Canton Food Tours has been on our “must-do” list for a long time now. So, when the planets aligned and we were able to gather a group of foodie/artsy/all-around-creative friends, we jumped at the chance to go on a private Warehouse District tour of downtown Canton.… Read More Read More
It’s that time of year – scheduling vacation days! For those of us who work 40+ hours a week, the vacation day is a cherished, strategically-placed 8 hours that allow us the mind-break we need.
Traditionally, vacations are thought to be a “week vaca to the tropics” etc, but what I find to be the most bang for the buck are weekend getaways near Ohio. These spots are close enough to drive (cheap enough to fly sometimes, even) and are perfect for spending anywhere between 2.5-5 days. Read More
Our first GUEST POST! Our fabulous friend Amber (and fellow web marketer – we hang out in packs) happily agreed to share her love of country music by covering Countryfest for Two Amused Bouches. It happens each year, right here in our backyard.… Read More Read More
Browsing Etsy is fun, but it's usually just that for me, browsing. However, when you put those shops on a table and allow me to pick items up, smell them (promise I'm talking about soaps and body butters... maybe), feel them and get caught up in the excitement, I buy, buy, buy. Perfect business concept! The creators of Crafty Mart just so happen to be savvy, and have smarty pants because they did just that. Read More! Read More
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway's Indy 500 is coined "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing", and it really lives up to it.
This year was the 97th running of the Indy 500, which is chock full of traditions. A reading of how the track was created, the release of multi-colored ballons, a rendition of "Back Home Again in Indiana", the National Anthem, among everything else 'Murica.
Opening ceremonies were exciting in themselves, and at times chill inducing, which only gave way to an even more exciting grand event. Read More! Read More
We have a little Mother’s Day tradition in our household. Futureman and the boys give me a day where I set the agenda – food, shopping, whatever I want to do – no complaints from them allowed. I LOVE THIS DAY, mostly because it involves exactly zero stops at Game Stop, but also because I get to watch their amazement at how much eating, shopping, and additional eating I can pack into a single day.… Read More Read More

Some Stark County residents aren’t aware of the farmers markets and flea markets we have in our own backyard. Even I’m guilty of neglecting these, finding myself headed to the West Side Market in Cleveland more often than not.… Read More Read More
One of the best traits of Ohio City is how easy it is to get around and walk from point a to point b....c,d, and e. Parking at West Side Market, we ran through the vendors and got tons of great produce, cookies, popcorn and cheese then stopped at the car to drop everything off. We didn't have to move the car or worry about finding additional parking as all our spots were within a few blocks.
Because the only thing that makes a beverage better, is drinking that beverage outside in the sunshine on a patio. Read More
Last Friday, for our dear friend Lilia’s 29th (+ maybe a few) birthday, Lisa and I headed up to CLE to help her celebrate. After a short deliberation of where to celebrate - E. 4th, Gordon Square or Tremont, we settled on Gordon Square, one of our favorite walkable neighborhoods. Infested with bearded plaid-shirted hipsters, yes, but still a fave. Read More
All of us non-Clevelanders have been there - jealous desires of wanting to take a swift car ride to Progressive Field, or even walking from an amazing restaurant to a ball game. You guys up North kind of have it made...
BUT. Low and behold. We have our own Summit county gem of a stadium, with a treasure of a team. (I sound like a pirate now, right? I'll stop. Promise.) The Akron Aeros. Read More
Cleveland Restaurant Week is a great reminder of why we should go to Cleveland to eat. Basically, this is a genius concept - it's a way for those of us outside of Cleveland and immediate surrounding areas to come up and try various places we might not otherwise. For a variety of reasons, whether it be a new place we're not sure about, a normally pricey menu, or a menu full of items we've never ventured to try, THIS is the reason to try them all. Read More
It had been a while since we all had gone on a big St. Patty’s pub crawl, so my coworker Jen and I decided it was time we plan a good one. Even better, ystark!, the young professional arm of the Canton Chamber of Commerce, was on board to sponsor it with us. YES.
The plan was to hit five local, independent bars in four hours – all within a few very walkable blocks of Downtown Canton, with the last stop being a bar and restaurant where people could stay for dinner. We scheduled 45 minutes at each bar, with 15 minutes in between to get people “corralled” and give ‘em time to pay up and walk to the next location. To our surprise, it worked! Read More
