GG’s Café Coffee House – North Canton

GG’s Café Coffee House – North Canton

Frigid temperatures and near-blizzard conditions put getting a good cup of hot coffee at the very top of my to-do list.

Of course in a 5 mile radius we have the usual Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks (a few of them actually) but the luster of those chains are, well, meh. What is more than “meh” is the new [to the area] GG’s Café Coffee House. It’s located in the old BAM! location off of Cleveland Ave. IMG_7888

The espresso is fresh ground when you order, and mixed into staples like lattes, cappuccinos and Americanos. In addition to the simple espresso drinks, you can also order something more decadent drinks like a Nutty Irish Man, Cafe Mocha, Salted Caramel Mocha, Pumpkin Spice and so many more.

You’re not stuck to the menu either, pick and choose your syrup and toppings. Plus, what I like best is the option to choose different milks for the espresso and hot chocolate such as regular, soy and almond (my choice!). The drinks range in price from $3-4.

In addition to espresso drinks, they serve local coffee from Brecksville, Ohio: Caruso’s Coffee. Served in both regular and decaf, it’s a tasty cup (for there or to go) for only $1.95.

Other drinks include smoothies and frapps for $4.50.IMG_7890

But hey, that’s not all!

GG’s café has breakfast, lunch and early dinner. The breakfast options include egg bacon and cheese croissants and wraps, egg burritos, muffins, cinnamon rolls and power cookies (my favorite – they include chia, flax and pumpkin seeds with dried pineapple, apricots and craisins. Vegan and freshly made every morning.). All breakfast items are ranging from $1.50-$6.Power Cookie

Lunch and dinner options include soup, salads and sandwiches. Soups are made daily, and the other items are made to order, and totally customizable. If you want to switch and swap some items on your salad, go for it, if you’re not into gluten right now, tell them and they’ll make sure it’s gluten-free.Greek Salad

Make sure at one point you opt for a panini (or toast) because the bread is a homemade sourdough.

Circling back to the local food aspect of GG’s, they also get their meat products from Waynesburg, Ohio for hormone and antibiotic free ingredients to pair with their organic veggies used in their menu items. Dressings are made with local honey, and the cheese comes right from Minerva. (Minerva is right next to where they started GG’s: Malvern.)

Get your coffee and food to go, or stay for a little while in the cozy shop. There are a few tables and a bar top, it’s not a huge space but it feels comfortable.IMG_7886
