New Year’s Eve 2014
New Year’s Eve sneaks up every year, mostly because the extravagance surrounding Christmas and Hanukkah. If you’re now realizing that your Wednesday evening plans are, well, not in existence, here are a few different events happening throughout Akron, Canton and Cleveland that might pull you (and maybe your family) out of the house for a little celebration.
Singles/Couples/Friends: Bust out your cocktail attire, The Onesto is hosting an elaborate celebration in Downtown Canton from 7pm – 12:30am. Included in your admission is an all-evening food buffet, dessert bar and champagne cocktail toast. Live entertainment from the Ryan Humbert Band and After the Rayne. Tickets are $150 per person, $30o per couple, and room rate specials are available at the McKinley Grand (lodging, valet and shuttle are not included). More info here.

The Auricle Game Night ($your bar tab) Board, card and video games plus ping pong, pool and darts. They’ll provide snacks and show movies, you buy the booze. Bar opens at 5pm.
Fieldcrest Estate New Years ($40-$50 per person) appetizers, cash bar, pork and kraut dinner at 11 and champagne toast.
Quaker Steak and Lube New Years ($139 per person, $169 per couple with lodging) 4 free drink tickets, one night stay at the Hampton Inn with shuttle.
Families: The North Canton Skate Center is hosting their own NYE party from 8pm – 12:30am. Families can buy an unlimited bracelet for all activities including skating, euro bungy, rock wall, lazer tag and bumper cars. Also included is food tickets, party favors and a raffle ticket. Those bracelets are $20 a piece, and skating-only is $10 with $2-$3.50 skate rental. More info here.

New Year’s Eve at Pump It Up of Hartville ($10 per adult/child) countdown, balloon drop, New Year’s Eve toast with sparkling cider, noisemakers.
Canton YMCA New Year’s Eve overnight lock-in ( $35/members, $45/non members) is a party just for K-8th grade. Snacks, movies, tumbling, swimming and games all included.
Singles/Couples/Friends: From 8pm – 12:30am, in Mall B near the Cleveland Convention Center, CLE Rocks NYE welcomes guests of all ages to enjoy live performances, local food vendors, celebrity quest appearances, a monumental countdown to the new year with a special surprise, and much more. Lago’s Old Hollywood NYE 2015 Gala includes a premium open bar, champagne toast, food and live performances for $175/person,$300/couple, $500/couple includes a room at the aloft Hotel for the night.
Local Rock at the Ohio City Temple$15 cover/$12 in advance includes free champagne, and live entertainment from 6 local indie rock bands. Cash bar is available and all proceeds and tips go directly to the WOO WHO Foundation.
Families: New Year’s Eve Eve at the Great Lakes Science Center is on December 30 from 7pm- 11:30pm. Skate, partake in crafts, science shows and OMNIMAX movies. The night will end with a countdown to the new year that includes a ginger ale toast and balloon drop! Registration is required and admission is $24. More info here.

The Children’s Museum of Cleveland ($8 per person) Count down to the New Year at 11am, 12pm and 1pm. Included are noisemakers, party hats and prizes throughout the event.
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Noon Year’s Eve (free with zoo admission) Check out the Noon Year’s Eve wild animal show, partake in crafts, and other activities including music, dancing and an ice-carving demonstration.
Singles/Couples/Friends: Todaro’s 2015 New Year’s Eve Party is a fancy affair, with dancing, entertainment and a fabulous food selection The admission price includes party favors, food, coffee station and an open bar. A ballon drop at midnight ends with a champagne toast, all at $95 per person. More info here.

The Tangier New Year’s Eve “Get On Up” Dance party in the Cabaret from 8pm – 1 am. Included is a deluxe bar, appetizer buffet, live band. Party favors are provided as well as a balloon drop and Champagne toast at midnight
Funny Stop Comedy Club will have two comics Dave Landau and Martin Butter for NYE.
Families: On NYE from 6pm – midnight, Downtown Akron hosts indoor entertainment for all ages throughout the downtown area. In its 19th year, First Night Akron includes music, dance, theater, visual and interactive arts, all for $10 per admission. All children, under 10 are free with an accompanying adult. More info here.
