Red and White on Thursday Night + Ticket Giveaway
Tasting events are the best. Discovering new favorites alongside the old tried and true, with sizes are perfect for trying as many new bites (or sips) as possible.
Luckily, one of the favorite food and wine events in the area is coming up. On January 28th, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Arthritis Foundation is hosting their 19th annual Red & White on Thursday Night at Quaker Station in Akron. (And we’re giving away two tickets!)
E and I have attended in the past and were blown away with how well the event is executed. The Arthritis Foundation (Great Lakes Region) has a track record for putting on phenomenal foodie events (ex: Silver Spoon Awards), and Red & White is a perfect example of how they acquired that reputation.
Choose as many samples as you’d like. Guests are able to try a little bit of everything without a limiting ticket system.
Food bites are just that, bites, so you can try just about everything you have your eye set on. As for wines, you’ll be elated with the vast number of different regions, vineyards and varietals offered. Plus, the Red and White layout is optimal for mingling, looking, chatting; and for those really into food and wine, it’s accessible to talk with the restaurants and wine distributors to gain a deeper understanding of what they’re offering.
Participating restaurants include:
Chef Dante Boccuzzi of DBA
Barmacy Bar & Grill
Bistro on Main
BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse
Cilantro Thai & Sushi Restaurant
Chocolates by Erin
Chowder House Café
Hudson’s Restaurant & Catering
Melt Bar and Grilled – Akron
Nuevo Modern Mexican & Tequila Bar
Saffron Patch in the Valley
Silver Lake Country Club
The Galaxy Restaurant & Banquet Center
The Pierogi Lady
The Taverne of Richfield

Wines from around the world will be provided by: Bowling Green Beverage, Inc., Filia Cellars, Heidelberg Distributing Company, Superior Beverage Group, Traderman Distributors, Wine Trends and Soroca Imports.
On top of delicious food and wine, a silent and live auction will take place. Bid on items throughout the night, such as themed baskets, VIP event tickets, experience packages and more. The live auction is a ball, and the items up for auction are big, impressive, and fun to watch go.
An exclusive VIP Lounge experience is also planned that will give VIP ticket holders access to special fare from Chef Dante Boccuzzi of DBA, specialty desserts and high-end wine pairings. Additional special features are planned, like massages from Massage Envy. VIP ticket holders also have access to the main event.
The MOST important aspect of this event is the reason it’s put on in the first place. Arthritis.
Arthritis is the nation’s leading cause of disability and affects more than 50 million Americans and nearly 300,000 children. In Northeastern Ohio, nearly 1.3 million people of all ages have been diagnosed with arthritis. More than 108,000 of those are Summit County residents, according to 2013 figures. I can almost guarantee you know someone who is affected or living with arthritis. And the Arthritis Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living with arthritis while looking for a cure.
General admission tickets are $85 in advance, or $95 at the door. VIP Lounge tickets are $125 in advance, or $135 at the door. Purchase tickets online at akronredandwhite.com or call 216-285-2822.
You can also enter for the chance to win two general admission tickets, right here. We’ll draw a random winner on January 22 at noon.
